Elan Alvey is a Senior Industrial Consultant at Dragos where he assists the professional services teams in conducting network and vulnerability assessments.
Prior to joining Dragos, Elan started his IT journey while active-duty Navy where he served onboard two destroyers and a satellite communication station. Elan then moved into government contracting where he spent two years working with the Air Force. He spent one year in Iraq supporting counter-intelligence collections platforms and intel report creations, and the next year supporting the National Center for Credibility Assessment with polygraph equipment repairs and installations as well as associated infrastructure.
The following five years, Elan spent supporting a Navy intelligence and threat sharing platform that integrated with air, surface, and subsurface combatants. Elan moved away from the government sector and joined Louisville Gas and Electric and Kentucky Utilities. Initial duties included NERC/CIP compliance eventually moving into Gas SCADA to start preparing the environment to meet compliance of TSA SD1/2 and strengthen relationships in the IT/OT gap.
